Issue with my plug on my portable product.

Applicable to: All Products on a plug.

Issue: Plug too hot, plug damaged, plug melted, plug damaged socket.

Advice:  Not all plug issues relate to the plug – it can be the socket

Action: A competent person can replace the plug. As the likely cause is a loose fuse holder. Replacing the plug and ensuring the clips around the fuse are tight will minimise the issue.

Information below can be found in the product instructions-

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED

When cut off this plug can constitute a shock hazard if inserted into a socket outlet. It must therefore be disposed of safely.

IMPORTANT: The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code: BLUE: NEUTRAL BROWN: LIVE GREEN & YELLOW: EARTH As the colours of the wires in the mains lead may not correspond with the coloured markings in your plug, proceed as follows: Connect the BROWN wire to the terminal marked ‘L’ or coloured RED. Connect the BLUE wire to the terminal marked ‘N’ or coloured BLACK. Connect the Green & Yellow cable to the terminal marked E or coloured green or green or yellow.  Note: ‘L’ or ‘N’ must not be connected to the EARTH terminal marked ‘E’ or ‘ ’ or coloured GREEN or GREEN and YELLOW. If in doubt, consult your electrician

Note: The plugs on 2kw & 3kw products will get warm to touch due to the current. Must not use the product with an  extension lead.

If you're not competent to replace the plug and your product is in guarantee then the complete product with any supplied components such as remote control, feet, castors should be returned with your receipt to your point of purchase.

Out of guarantee we recommend you replace the plug following the information above.
