Can I install the DAR radiator with type "AC" RCD protection?

When installing products, installers must follow current IET wiring regulations.

As of September 2024, BS7671 now states:

531.3.3 Types of RCD:

RCD Type AC shall only be used to serve fixed equipment, where it is known that the load current contains no DC components.

Due to the DAR radiator containing DC components (ie low DC voltages on the main PCB to power the User Interface), type AC RCD's must not be used. Type A RCDs must be used for these heaters for new installations to conform to current BS7671 regulations.
