My tower fan is not oscillating and is creating a grinding noise?

Applicable to models:

DXIONCF, DXMBCF, Xpelair XPP

Issue:

Fan not oscillating.

Action:

Ensure the following checks are completed and are not the cause of the issue;

Plugged into wall socket and not extension lead.
Cleaned as per the manual.
On a flat and stable surface. I.E. not half on carpet, half on laminate flooring.
The clearances are met and nothing is obstructing the fan.
